Whiteface Mountain was part of the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, NY. The Whiteface Mountain ski area features some of the best skiing New York State has to offer.
You can also hike or drive to the top of the Mountain. Whiteface is the fifth highest mountain in New York State (at 4867 feet in elevation) making it one of the Adirondack's 46 high peaks.
Great skiing and great hiking only 10 minutes from downtown Lake Placid.
